First-in-Human ALPFA GRAIL Results for Minimally Invasive BPH (AUA 2026)
The ALPFA GRAIL System, a novel non-thermal Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) technology, was evaluated in the first-in-human pilot study of 76 men with symptomatic BPH. Delivered under local or conscious sedation via a flexible cystoscope, the procedure demonstrated excellent safety with zero device- or procedure-related serious adverse events. Early results showed clinically meaningful improvements in lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), increased maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), and preservation of ejaculatory and erectile function.
